Aonach Ceardaíochta Rang 7

17th Jun 2021

A chairde, táimid chomh buíoch as an tacaíocht ar fad a thug sibh dúinn ag Aonach Ceardaíochta Rang 7, Spraoi.

Folks, we are so thankful for the amazing support you gave our Rang 7 pupils with their Craft Fair, Spraoi, the result of their work on the Business Beginnings program from Young Enterprise.

The pupils have been working so hard over the last month or so and as their teacher, I'm incredibly proud of their endeavours. I'm also very touched by the support we've been given, both from within and from outside of our school community.

I'd like to thank all of our parents and grandparents for their help, their donations and their encouragement for our boys and girls over the last month. I'd like to thank all of our pupils who came along to support their schoolmates in their entrepreneurial exploits. Thanks also to Young Enterprise for organising this great program.

I want to give special thanks to one of our special grandparents here at Bunscoil Bheanna Boirche, Helen Connolly. Helen has been so kind and generous, sharing her time, her expertise, her own materials and her passion with our pupils over the last few weeks, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given to our school, not only during this last month but over the last number of years. Buíochas mór ó chroí leat a Helen.

I'd also like to give thanks to Philip and Lisa from the Teolaí studio in Castlewellan. Teolaí made a very generous donation of inked wooden plaques which the pupils were able to decorate with willow patterns and designs, and sell on at the fair. We are very touched and humbled by this lovely gesture from a lovely local business.

And I'd like to thank the Rang 7 pupils. They've worked hard this last month, their final month at primary school in what has been a challenging and strange year. Their attitude, their creativity, their work ethic, their kindness and their resilience have all been a pleasure to behold over the course of the last month, indeed over the last year. Comhghairdeas libh a Rang 7.

This has been a wonderful project to have been involved in, and although the end-goal was to have created a business and finish with some profits, our pupils have gained an experience worth much more than the pounds and pennies they gathered yesterday. That being said, and again I must say I'm very touched and humbled by how much support we've been given, I'm delighted to announce that our pupils made a total of £650 from sales yesterday, which was topped up with a very generous anonymous donation of £100 from a member of our school community, giving our Rang 7 pupils a grand total of £750!

Again, hearty congratulations to all of our Rang 7 pupils and heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported us in this project.

Ar scáth a chéile a mhairimid!
